Wind Turbine Assessment Service

Mechanical Loads, Power Performance, Acoustic Noise / Vibration. When developing new wind turbines, extensive measurements of the mechanical loads acting on the prototypes during operation are indispensable. The results of these load measurements carried out by DEWI are used in the design validation and certification of wind turbine prototypes. Design validation and certification represent the key to a mechanically reliable wind turbine which is ready for series production.

Grid Integration Service

Power Quality, Grid Calculations, Grid Code Compliance. In the field of grid integration DEWI carries out measurements and evaluations to determine the electrical characteristics and grid compatibility of wind turbines, solar inverters and of other generation units/systems. The measurements are required for planning grid connections and verifying applicable limits, but they also allow an exact analysis of the electrical behaviour of the generation units and systems, which is important for their design, development and optimisation. In this connection DEWI also carries out calculations of required grid capacities as well as power quality and background interference measurements.

Turbine Inspection Service

Damage Analyses, Periodic Inspections & Specific Inspections. To ensure a safe and efficient operation of wind turbines and wind farms, DEWI offers an independent service for periodic technical inspections during the project life cycle. Our goal is to maintain your wind turbines in optimal condition by means of an assessment of the current technical state, clarification of technical issues and initial damages summed up with accurate recommendations in a well documented report.

Our Turbine and Component Expertise DEWI offers one-stop safety and performance testing services for wind turbines and their components based on international and national standards and regulations (IEC 61400 series, MEASNET, FGW). We always work with each customer’s individual needs, and flexibly assist in Solutions that speed products to market.

Energy Yield Assessment (EYA)

DEWI offers comprehensive EYA service, from large-scale wind potential determination using Mesoscale modelling to accurate assessment of the site conditions, including calculation of the expected energy yield at specific wind farms at pre-/postconstruction stage. The suitability of the planned wind turbine type to the site characteristics and correspondence to the IEC 61400-1 norm is checked via DEWI’s site classification assessment. Pre-Construction Stage
