I found this funnel. It worked great! I had no idea. I was worried about what I was going to do with all that contaminated gasoline and I couldn’t use my gas cans in the meantime. Our specialized media is used to detect microorganisms in diesel fuel specifically. This type of culture media is designed to monitor microbial contamination in fuel, which can result in sludge buildup, fuel degradation, and potential damage to storage tanks and engines. It is used in industries that require clean fuel systems, such as automotive, marine, and aviation, where microbial contamination can compromise fuel performance and equipment integrity.

Tests for: Contamination caused by accidental DEF exposure in diesel. Place the colored end down into the test tube. Add questionable liquid.
As little as 0.1% DEF will turn the strip green and the same 0.1% water will give the same reaction. At 1% DEF the strip will begin to turn BLUE in a few seconds.

The fuel industry tells us that fuel can have up to 200 ppm of water BUT your engine manufacture will tell you after you have a problem that ZERO water is allowed.

This is a two part process. We send you two field tests, one to detect DEF in fuel and one to detect bacteria/algae in fuel. These tests are done by you in your facility. We also will send you the container and a postage paid package to return the sample to the lab by Priority Mail. Once the lab gets the sample the test is completed and results are emailed to you within 72 hours.

Did gasoline end up in a diesel fuel tank by mistake? If you THINK there is gasoline in the fuel you need to KNOW for sure or risk engine damage. To be 100% sure of contamination with gasoline you must send a sample to our lab. We will send you the container and a postage paid package to return the sample to the lab by Priority Mail. Once the lab gets the sample the test is completed and results are emailed to you within 72 hours.

Test Procedure: Take the water sample using the supplied pipette. Add it to the test tube until the tube is ½ full and then acidic water will show as pink to red, meaning you have a problem.
