About Us
The global population reached over 7 billion in 2013, and, according to the United Nations, it will hit 9 billion in 2050. China and India, with a total population of 2.5 billion people in total, play a major role in the rapidly growing global population.
As the population grows, we will face a growing need for energy and transportation fuels, which are predominantly based on diminishing fossil fuel reserves. There is an increasing need to replace fossil fuel consumption with renewable resources, such as biogas. Until now, biogas adoption has not reached the level of being a cost-effective alternative.
Another, even bigger challenge for mankind is the need to feed the growing population. Concurrently with the feeding problem, the globe faces the challenge of sustainable energy production capacity. Climate issues are driving traditional energy production into a tight spot and energy crops, such as oil seeds and corn, are taking over cultivation areas for biodiesel and biofuel production. As cultivated land becomes a scarce resource, its monetary value increases as it is in our interest to get the best out of it.
As previously stated, renewable energy methods hav...
As previously stated, renewable energy methods have still a lot of room for improvement and more R&D investments are needed to make renewable energy a real alternative to fossil fuels. For instance, biogas production is still struggling with overall process costs, and therefore consumer biogas availability and pricing is not yet attractive.
In the farming sector today, the crops cultivated for food, feed and energy production are nurtured with chemical fertilizers. While the use of chemical fertilizers has been a necessity in the past, it has not come without a price tag. First of all, the production of chemical fertilizers requires natural gas and vast amounts of energy, as well as the oil used in mining. Secondly, the extensive use of chemical fertilizers depletes soils and makes them even more dependent on fertilizers by diminishing the soil’s own nutrient production. Thirdly, the depleted soil loses its structure and is more exposed to nutrient leaching and run-offs. As a result, nutrients can be found in water systems, where they cause eutrophication and other issues. Despite all these side-effects, chemical fertilizers are still needed as they still provide a critical solution for maintaining crop yields. Ductor technology enables the production of fertilizers based on recycling and biological methods. Careful usage of these fertilizers will preserve nature’s biodiversity so that it can produce food for the world’s entire population.
Ductor has groundbreaking technology to biologically produce ammonia and phosphates from recycled materials. In the biogas environment, this technology can be used to process biomass so that valuable nutrients can be extracted, and the remaining biomass will be better suited to biogas production. This will dramatically affect the overall process costs. The extracted biological ammonia and phosphates can be used to boost organic fertilizers’ performance to be on a par with chemical fertilizers while preserving soil biodiversity.
Our Mission and Vision
The Ductor Mission
We want to revolutionize biogas plant economics and promote biogas as one of the most important renewable energy sources while supplying important food production components as fertilizers in a sustainable way.
The Ductor Vision
We want to secure efficient waste management and sustainable food and energy production based on recycling through the principles of circular economy.
Change is Inevitable
The world is changing. The greenhouse effect is here. Temperatures are rising. Climate change is real.
By 2050 the world’s population is expected to reach 9.6. billion. Increased demand for food and energy production, combined with the growing accumulation of waste, will continue to have a massive impact on the atmosphere of the earth. The situation is serious, but not hopeless.
Our groundbreaking technology helps to solve these major global challenges. We change the way waste can be utilized to produce renewable energy and fertilizers – making a major contribution to the circular economy of food production-waste reuse-energy generation.
That is what we do. That is why we are here.
