MICROBE-LIFT®/KH Test Kit for Carbonate Alkalinity level in pond or aquarium: Importance for natural biological ammonia removal process, referred to as Nitrification: Requires the presence of KH (carbonate alkalinity) at all times. Utilizes 7.1 mg of KH for every 1 mg of ammonia removed. Continuously depletes KH so KH must be monitored and restored as needed with MICROBE-LIFT®/KH Bio-Active Booster (ML/KH). Works in Fresh & Salt Water. Maintain 100 ppm KH at all times to assure nitrification.

Several trials have been conducted to showcase the diversity of the technologies capability to adjust to different feedstocks. An anerobic digestor operator in N. Ireland, displaying high levels, of hydrogen sulfide at 270 ppm and low methane output. The trial was conducted with daily treatment of BGE1 and BGE2 on an 600,000-gallon anaerobic digestor with a combined feedstock of grass, chicken litter, and manure slurry.

Hydrogen oxidizing methanogens aid in producing hydrogen ions which react with available carbon dioxide to increase methane output.
