Ecology Law Quarterly (University of California, Berkeley )
Berkeley Law provides a rock-solid foundation for students preparing for careers that will take them in unexpected directions and face them with unimaginable challenges. We’re building professionals capable of integrating law, business, politics, finance, the social sciences, and the humanities. And we’re doing it with an emphasis on both excellence and ethics. Besides offering premier J.D. and J.S.D. programs, we were the first U.S. law school to offer M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Jurisprudence and Social Policy. Most recently, we expanded our LL.M. program to offer two paths to a degree: our standard nine-month program as well as a new six-month curriculum spanning two consecutive summers. And—true to our interdisciplinary orientation—we offer more combined-degree programs with other institutions than any other Top 10 law school, plus concurrent-degree programs with a dozen schools and departments on campus.

About Us
Like those of our peer schools, our curriculum offers a rich array of courses for students aiming at corporate litigation, public interest law, criminal prosecution, international law, or any one of a dozen other fields. But unlike most of those schools, we offer our first-year J.D. students the opportunity to choose electives during their second semester—a chance to begin customizing their legal education early on. Among the intriguing possibilities are: Mergers and Acquisitions in High Tech, Prosecution of War Crimes, Disasters and the Law, Feminist Jurisprudence, Global Migration Issues, Biotechnology and Chemical Patent Law, Insider Trading, and Current U.S. Supreme Court Cases.
Our students also have the option of participating in one or more of our legal clinics, legal journals, research centers, student organizations, public interest fellowships, or field placements. And most of them do.
