Energiequelle GmbH
Energiequelle’s primary field of activity is the planning, project development and construction of wind energy plants for its own company and also for third parties, comercialisation included. And of course, the company also offers management for the turnkey delivered facilities. An independent monitoring system allows individual power plants to be monitored, controlled and documented from the grid connection point right down to the last unit; alongside lio-kV-transformer stations, this includes in particular the 380-kV transformer stations in Putlitz and Schönewalde with a total capacity of 980 megawatts. In addition to the technical operation of plants, Energiequelle also deals with the entire commercial side.

About Us
Our company philosophy: combining economy and ecology
With our team of around 140 staff we are perfectly familiar with the entire range of services surrounding onshore wind. We implement renewable energy projects from scratch to turnkey handover and also take care of grid connection. As operational managers we guarantee maximum availability and perfect commercial management of wind energy plants.
Energiequelle - today and tomorrow
2014 was one of the most successful years in our company history based on newly installed turbines and turnover. We have
planned and erected over 650 wind turbines since 1997, as well as dozens of solar parks, biogas plants and transformer stations.
As an operator of renewable powerplants, in 2014 we were able to continuealong the dynamic path that we haveestablished over the past few years. We have consolidated and expanded ourmanagement portfolio in our core marketsof France and Germany with perseverance, vision and good judgement. EnergiequelleGmbH’s solid portfolio has set it on a stablepath for growth. Our employees areextremely dedicated and highly qualified, and we are optimally equipped for the challenges ahead.
Germany – dynamic growth and repowering
Germany – dynamic growth and repowering
During 2014, we erected and commissioned around 50 wind turbines with more than 110 MW capacity, the majority of which we had planned ourselves in the preceding years. We believe that we will see similar expansion in the next few years too. For the first time, a notable number of older turbines have been replaced by newer, more powerful ones. The repowering experience we gained here will be very valuable in the years to come.
Internationally – growth in France
Together with its subsidiary P&T Technologie (Rennes), Energiequelle GmbH erected a further 13 wind turbines with a capacity of 32 MW in France in 2014. Overall, we have now provided our neighbouring country with 63 turbines offering 133 MW. Gregor Weber, Head of International Projects at the Energiequelle group: “In the years to come, we want to strengthen our business in France and gain a foothold in other one or two European countries.”
Management – stable growth
Stable growth was also achieved in our management business in 2014. With around 670 turbines and nearly 1200 MW of managed power, we are one of the largest German operators of renewable plants. In France, we have now moved into the top ten in the field of management.

Regional balancing power station at Feldheim – another step towards the energy transition
For the energy transition to succeed, suitable storage facilities will be indispensible. In the village of Feldheim in Brandenburg, the energy supply of the future has already become a reality: the village has been supplied with heat and power from exclusively renewable sources since 2010. In autumn 2014, Energiequelle and ENERCON started the joint construction of a 10 MW/10.5 MWh battery storage system, which is due to be commissioned in spring 2015. René Just, Head of Domestic Projects and Innovations at Energiequelle: “The storage will be used for primary control to balance out frequency fluctuations in the operator’s transmission grid.” The “Regionale Regelenergiekraftwerk (RRKW) Feldheim”, as the large storage system is officially known, will be fed from the neighbouring wind farm.
Renewable energies – for people, with people
At Energiequelle we not only stand for the reconciliation of ecology and economy. We are also aware of our particular responsibility for the social acceptance of renewable energies. In our projects, we place great emphasis on involving local people. We develop and implement models, which encourage residents to actively participate in renewable energy projects. Our success speaks for itself.
Our Vision:
'Everyone should have the opportunity to be supplied with renewable energies produced as locally as possible.’ (Michael Raschemann)
Tomorrow’s energy for the people of today
What we want for the future is that everybody can be supplied from the inexhaustible sources of energy in their immediate surroundings, because wind, solar and biomass energy are basically available everywhere. We believe that supplying renewable energies on a decentralised basis will come to the fore, because the people of today want to take control of their most important interests, which includes their heat and power supply. This is why we are developing future-proof, needs-based and efficient concepts that can actually be implemented locally, where people live.
International
Energiequelle sets international standards
All Energiequelle employees passionately pursue one common goal: The promotion of Renewable Energy. Being Germany’s second largest operator and having installed over 1000 MW of wind energy converters is a great achievement. But there is more to come. Together with our international partner companies we will make sure that this positive development continues and that there is a sustainable supply of Renewable Energy in other countries also.
Successful Co-operation
In 2014, in successful co-operation with our French subsidiary P & T Technologie SAS, we installed 13 wind turbnies with a total of 31,5 MW. As a result, we now have more than 130 MW of installed wind energy power in our neighbouring country to the west. Energiequelle sets an example. And we enjoy doing so very much, because we wish to ensure that Renewable Energies have the same importance in France as they do in Germany as soon as possible. It is mainly relevant information about wind energy - alongside reliability, extensive experience and planning security - with which Energiequelle is promoting Renewable Energies in our neighbouring country. We put a lot of trust into the support from our French colleagues who help us with their professional expertise and their in-depth knowledge about national and even regional characteristics. The result of this mixture of various strengths and talents is a strong international network of Renewable Energies.
