Building Energy Performance Data Platform

Energy Saving Trust’s EMBED hub is an interactive online resource of building energy performance data, collated from energy monitoring field trials and various other studies.

Housing Data and Analysis Services

Home Analytics: The Energy Saving Trust’s Home Analytics service offers data on the housing stock in Great Britain to help target energy saving activity. Using data, statistical modelling and GIS analysis, the team has developed a profile of every address in Great Britain to identify the likelihood of its potential for retrofit energy-saving measures.

Energy Modelling Services

Making intelligent business decisions is rarely straightforward and the process must be underpinned by sound data and sector modelling techniques. The Energy Saving Trust has assembled a world-class team of experts in modelling, distribution networks, energy data and building fabric to help businesses identify solutions to their most challenging problems.

Renewable Product Field Trials and Monitoring Services

Energy Saving Trust have carried out field trials of energy saving and renewable energy products since 2001, in order to evaluate product performance and customer experiences of products in real life situations. We work with energy suppliers, government, trade bodies and manufacturers to understand the performance of low-carbon technologies and energy efficient measures in domestic and commercial environments. Field trials can involve either established technology or new innovations that require performance to be assessed as part of the research and development process.

Stakeholder Interactive City Energy Demand Simulator (SiCEDS)

Energy Saving Trust is working with the UCL Energy Institute and partners and to develop the ‘Stakeholder Interactive City Energy Demand Simulator’ (SiCEDS). Funded by Innovate UK, this tool will stimulate the development of effective sustainable energy systems in cities. SiCEDS will allow stakeholders to see their city like never before, giving unprecedented insight into the potential for energy interventions at the touch of a button. Through facilitated, collaborative planning sessions we will transform city stakeholders ideas into early feasibility studies and business cases.

Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS)

The Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) is a mandatory energy assessment scheme for organisations in the UK that meet the qualification criteria. The Environment Agency is the UK scheme administrator. Organisations that qualify for ESOS must carry out ESOS assessments every 4 years. These assessments are audits of the energy used by their buildings, industrial processes and transport to identify cost-effective energy saving measures. Organisations do not need to pre-register with the Environment Agency but must notify the Environment Agency by the set deadline that they have complied with their ESOS obligations.
