EXTRAQT, founded in July 2021, is an engineering start-up with the ambition to boost our society towards sustainable heating and cooling. Our company focuses on aquathermal heating & cooling, a sustainable alternative to natural gas where heat pumps are used to extract thermal energy from surface water (rivers, lakes, canals) and provide buildings with heat/cold. EXTRAQT develops energetic models (‘digital twins’) of rivers and lakes to estimate the potential of these sustainable thermal sources. Based on our feasibility studies, we design the technical concept for the aquathermal installation. Our digital twins and analyses always respect the boundaries of the waterbody’s ecosystem.
