Based in Trondheim, Norway, Green Floating Marine Structures (GFMS) is an engineering firm focusing on innovative projects for sustainable energy solutions. The company was founded by Dr. Jørgen Ranum Krokstad with a mission to develop the WindBarge, a unique floating wind turbine structure featuring a single line mooring system. This concept leverages his extensive experience in single point mooring systems, as well as collaboration with prominent organizations like SINTEF and NTNU, and practical insights gained from his work in offshore wind developments with Statkraft and former Statoil. Currently, GFMS is assembling a consortium of strategic partners with the expertise necessary for the detailed design and testing of the WindBarge, with the ultimate goal of realizing a full-scale prototype.
