Our story begins in 1992, in City University, London, when Ian Smith, Professor of Applied Thermodynamics and Professor Nikola Stosic began working together on twin screw machines. Two years later the Professors established the now world leading Centre for Positive Displacement Compressor Technology. They made progress in the field of screw expanders and it became clear that their work had serious commercial applications. Heliex’s Chief Technical Officer, Dan Wright, has received an MBE for his services to engineering and along with the Professors, formed Heliex Power. With systems across Europe in industries from glass and farming, to steel and chemicals plus a portfolio of four truly unique products, Heliex continues on its mission to cut energy costs in industry and boost sustainability in a multitude of sectors across the globe.
