Front-side Pastes

Front-side Metallization Paste for Mono and Multicrystalline Wafers

SOL9410S and SOL9411 are new generation front-side silver metallization pastes that build on our impressive track record. Optimized for high efficiency and high throughput processing, SOL9410S and SOL9411 were formulated to exceed the quality of our benchmark pastes, SOL9235H and SOL9273MA, in every aspect. The unique chemistry of SOL9410S and SOL9411 enhance the etch of the SiNXH anti-reflective coating, thus, significantly improving contact while preserving the junction quality on various emitters and wafers. SOL9410S and SOL9411 are optimized for varying emitter depths and concentrations.

Heraeus - Highest Efficiency Pastes with Industry Leading Stability

Heraeus continues to assist cell manufacturers to improve the output of conventional solar cells with the introduction of our SOL9620 Series of metallization pastes. Several major cell manufactures have confirmed higher cell efficiencies relative to the best commercially available front-side pastes. Their improvements ranged between 0.05% and 0.20% absolute on 90Ω/sq. wafers, with even greater gains on 110Ω/sq. wafers, depending on their process and reference paste. Heraeus’ SOL9620 Series is able to contact lowly doped and ultra lowly doped emitter wafers, and possesses unique characteristics for high value cell production. The SOL9620 Series displays the highest long-term cell efficiency stability. Also, the SOL9620 Series has a lower peak temperature firing requirement relative to the SOL9610 Series. This lower temperature characteristic is ideal for both PERC and n-Type cell design applications.

Back-side Pastes

New Lower Silver Content Back-side Metallization Paste

Heraeus continues to reduce the silver content per cell with the introduction of SOL205S, a modification to our SOL205, with a reduced silver content. SOL205S is a back-side tabbing Ag conductor paste for mono and multicrystalline silicon solar cells. SOL205S requires less paste per cell than previous generations and maintains the advantage of printability ease and excellent cell adhesion. SOL205S is a Pb and Cd free material that has excellent solderability in both lead and lead-free solders.

Lead-free Pure Silver Tabbing Conductor

SOL230H is a lead and cadmium free back-side tabbing silver conductor for mono and multicrystalline solar cell wafers. SOL230H is a robust paste that can be processed on textured or untextured wafers and allows the use of leaded or lead-free solder ribbons. Benchmark testing against a commonly used tabbing silver paste showed several advantages for SOL230H using a variety of conditions. The benefits included greatly improved adhesion and a significant reduction in paste consumption. This series of paste is also available in other versions based on customer’s process requirements.
