About Us
The firm Imesa was set up in 1988 as a family-run limited company with the aim of carrying out complex projects and facing up to new challenges and markets.
By the end of its first eight years in business, Imesa had 50 workers and an average turnover of 4 million euros.
Taking advantage of capital from other countries coming into Spain, the company took an important technological leap, setting up its own engineering team so it could offer the market a new service: the possibility of solving problems in turnkey projects and designing, calculating and implementing these solutions.
Nowadays Imesa is a modern company with an industrial area of more than 10,000 m2, of which 6,500 m2 are constructed with facilities and 1,000 m2 of offices.
In the last few years, we have committed ourselves to research, technological development and, through a quality strategy policy, Imesa has become company employing 100 people with a turnover of 8 million euros a year, clearly demonstrating metal transformation solutions in Spain.
Spain’s entry into the European Community has undoubtedly been one of the main driving forces for the modernisation the Spanish economy has undergone in the last 15 years. Entry required the country to open up its economy with a strong increase in foreign investment in Spain and a drive to modernise Spanish businesses with skills from abroad.
Philosophy

Internationalisation
As part of its business expansion plan, in 2009, Imesa decided to begin an internationalisation process. We took our first steps towards one of the most important markets in the hydroelectric and natural sector: Latin America.
In 2009, our first grilles and a trash rack were installed in Argentina. Ever since then, our exports have continued to grow as we have carried out projects with grilles, sluice gates and trash racks in Costa Rica, Guatemala, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Brazil, with sales offices in all these countries.
In 2014, we have also begun activity in Algeria, a country where we are installing various anti-flood gates for extensions to the Algiers metro.
In 2015, we began to take part in international tenders in Canada and we also intend to break into markets in various African countries.
International projects now account for 60% of manufacturing at Imesa.
