We are an Austrian company that manufactures biomass energy systems for the international market. With our work we bear an economic, environmental and social responsibility for present and future generations. When Jakob Kohlbach founded his company in 1945 with the first self-made pincers he surely did not foresee the dynamics with which our family business would grow to international recognition. As early as 1954 our first product for generating energy from wood was created with Kohlbach`s own combined wood drying and room heating system. Patents, prizes, awards and economic success followed. Since 1959 systems were exported far and wide and so just in the last few years alone more than 1500 Kohlbach plants have been commissioned in 23 countries. This includes heat supply systems for rural schools in Scotland, sawmills in Siberia, cogeneration plants for tourist destinations in the Dolomites and the timber industry in the Eifel District.
