Syngas Fuelgas Module
The solution of the fuel gas module is aimed at power and cement plants that want to co-incinerate sewage sludge despite the recent ban on mixing sewage sludge ash with ash from other fuels (AbfKlärV – Germany). With the SynGas fuel gas module, synthesis gas is produced from sewage sludge in a separate fluidized bed reactor, which can be fed to the power or cement plant as a gaseous substitute fuel. The resulting sewage sludge ash is collected unmixed and, as with our other solutions, is available in the same decontaminated and low-carbon quality for further recycling or phosphorus recovery. Synthesis gas treatment before the transfer point to the power plant can be adapted as required.
SynGas Heat Module
The SÜLZLE KOPF SynGas heat module is suitable for combination with a sewage sludge dryer or for feeding energy into a heating network. In this process, the energy of the sewage sludge is completely converted into heat, so that the entire system of sewage sludge drying and utilisation can be thermally self-sufficient.
SynGas CHP Module
The CHP module is characterised by its particularly high electrical energy recovery from the dried sewage sludge. The synthesis gas produced in the fluidised bed reactor is converted into electricity and heat after a purification stage in a highly efficient combined heat and power plant (CHP). The electrical energy is used to cover the plant’s own needs or to feed into the grid, the heat for sludge drying. Since a large part of the energy contained in the synthesis gas is converted into electricity in the CHP module, less thermal energy is available for drying the sewage sludge. This energy deficit can be covered by using the available energy from digester gas. The waste heat from the drying process is in turn available for heating the digestion towers. Thus, the entire system remains thermally self-sufficient and the use of further energy sources is avoided.
