We live in a world in which renewable energy is already abundant, but this energy often arises at the wrong times, in the wrong places and in the wrong forms. The rising global demand for energy services including transport, heating, cooling, lighting and communications requires a proportion of renewable energy to be converted, transported and stored so that it is readily available, on demand, whenever and wherever it is needed. Alongside the rapid increase in renewable solar power, wind power and energy storage, there is an increasing and complementary role for renewable fuels including biofuels, green hydrogen and synthetic fuels that can be produced without fossil fuels.

The diverse, distributed and variable nature of these renewable fuels requires energy conversion technologies that are more flexible, more efficient, and cleaner than the engines used in transport and distributed power generation today.

Libertine was established in 2009 to create Linear Generator technology to meet this challenge. We have drawn on decades of experience in the automotive and motorsport industries, consumer product engineering and low cost manufacturing techniques. The result is a technology platform for the creation of Linear Generator products for use in a wide range of transport, distributed power generation, and energy storage applications. Libertine’s technology will help meet the global need for clean, reliable and affordable transport and electrical power wherever it is needed, transforming the lives of millions of people.
