LifeWave Biomedical is developing a connected health solution that improves the clinical management of patients living with congestive heart failure (CHF) in hospital, ambulatory, and home settings. The solution comprises a small, non-invasive lung sensor that provides an absolute and accurate measurement of lung fluids and respiratory parameters. The sensor is coupled to a smartphone/cloud application that provides insights to improve hospitalization decision support and patient self-management. The expected benefits of the system are reduction of health care costs associated with hospitalization and re-admissions, improvement of patient quality-of-life, and potential extension of life expectancy. The sensor is held against the chest for a brief daily measurement and is designed for high patient compliance.
