In 1987, a NASA employee started NE in a small rented warehouse in Houston, TX custom fabricating enclosures for a handful of customers in the evening and weekends. In January of 2000 the current owner and CEO, Rob Bohn, purchased the business to get back to his manufacturing and engineering roots.

Since that time, NE has grown to be the leader of custom make-to-order electrical enclosures in the gulf coast with a strong focus on third part certification and customization on electrical enclosures.

We are a custom enclosure manufacturer who specializes in low volume high mix make to order enclosures. Whether your need is for 1 or 100 we are ready to help you thru the design and manufacture of your electrical enclosure to your exact requirements. Along with the ability to make to order we also provide third party certification for enclosures to be used in any part of the world. We offer UL and C-UL listed products for North America, ATEX for the European Union and IECEx for the rest of the world. Our certifications are written so that there are no limitations on size, materials or options. Additionally most of our customization requirements such as gland plates, view window and door on door enclosures maintain all of these certifications.

Our fabrication facility is designed around quick set-up and rapid tooling change out so we can accommodate nearly any order size, material, or quantity. We also offer third-party certifications from UL listed products up to NEMA 4X rating to ATEX/IECEx certification for hazardous locations.
