About us
Purpose
The purpose of the NZEH Coalition is to accelerate the market development of affordable net-zero energy homes.
Progress
The NZEH Coalition has embraced and actively supported the national EQuilibrium™ Sustainable Housing Demonstration Initiative led by Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) and assisted by Natural Resources Canada’s (NRCan's) energy analysis tools. EQuilibrium™ housing represents a significant step forward in reducing the energy consumption of Canada’s housing sector, supporting the growing need for renewable energy solutions and helping Canada achieve a clean and healthy environment.
The Coalition continues to work with industry and government to build support for NZEH deployment and provide expertise, knowledge and insight.
Published on March 31, 2011, our NZEH Industry Implementation Plan was developed to establish and deliver a customer focused business plan. The objective was to strategically prioritize the key activities of the NZEH Coalition based on the needs of the builders and other key industry stakeholders. (The Coalition used the key activities that were previously developed through collaborative efforts with industry, led by NRCan, CMHC and Industry Canada, as a basis for our list of key activities.) With direct input from industry stakeholders this prioritization is allowing the Coalition to focus our efforts and resources on those activities that will have the most significant impact in moving toward achieving our vision.
