Paulo
When Ben and Pauline Rassieur founded Paulo in 1943, most manufacturers in St. Louis were handling heat treating in house. They saw an immediate need for commercial heat treating. This was an opportunity to allow manufacturers to focus on their core businesses, while Paulo focused on delivering high-quality heat treating. We’ve built our company from the ground up making sure everything we do meets our customers’ requirements. That means custom-designing systems to trace every order from receiving, through production, and shipment. It means investing in state-of-the-art heat treating equipment. It means hiring the best and brightest specialists to ensure our processes are as effective and accurate as they can be. But most of all, it means doing whatever it takes to complete your projects – on time, on budget and in spec. Every time.

History
75 years ago, Ben and Pauline Rassieur rented a storefront near downtown St. Louis and decided to try to make a go of a business they weren’t sure would succeed.
Today, Paulo is a premier heat treater serving customers across North America. With five plants in operation and a sixth on the way, the venture is an unquestionable success.
This success would not have been possible without the dedication of our employees past and present. We salute those who brought us 75 years of good fortune as well as those who will lead us forward.
Ben and Pauline Rassieur found Paulo Products Company in 1943, offering heat treating services using homemade salt baths and second-hand tempering furnaces out of a rented space at 2907 Washington Ave. in St. Louis. In 1948, the company builds its first plant at 5711 W. Park Ave. in St. Louis, which still stands.
Paulo begins construction on its first international division, a 50,000-square-foot heat treatment plant in Monterrey, Mexico. With the potential to expand to 110,000 square feet, the plant will initially serve the automotive industry and is positioned to serve agricultural, aerospace and other industrial providers in the future.
