Inductive loads are applied to an electrical supply by electrical equipment on LV electricity supplies in all types of manufacturing, industrial and commercial processes. This load generates the reactive power of an electrical system. The larger the reactive component of the power used in a power supply, the lower the power factor will be. A low power factor increases all the electrical values based around current, increasing losses, heat in the system and electricity costs.
