Preformed Line Products (PLP) products

The Coated Dead-End is designed for direct application over conductors jacketed with neoprene, polyethylene, vinyl, or rubber. The sub-setted rods in each leg, bonded together with neoprene, exert a low radial pressure to prevent damage to the jacket. Because it is not necessary to skin the plastic covering, the same dead-end can be used for either aluminum- or copper-based covered conductors.

PLP pioneered the helical formed wire design in the 1940s and shortly thereafter the GUY-GRIP Dead-End was born. Still an industry standard today, the GUY-GRIP anchors millions of utility poles all over the world. The GUY-GRIP is intended for use on single wood poles associated with distribution construction. They are made of the same material as the strand to which they are applied and are rated at 100% of the strand's published rated breaking strength.

The INSULIGN Guy Strain Insulator series is intended for use with down guys or pole-to-pole guys on overhead lines. The insulative fiberglass rod electrically isolates the guy strand and provides electrical clearance for maintenance crews and the public during normal operation.

The PREFORMED™ Wrap-Around Guy Marker is designed to identify down guys or other wire and cable installations where anchoring devices are exposed to pedestrian and/or vehicular traffic.

ARMOR RODS are designed to protect cable against bending, compression, abrasion, and flash-over. They are also used to repair damaged aluminum-based conductors and restore the conductors' mechanical strength and conductivity.

The Ratchet Spacer is intended for use on overhead spacer cable distribution systems that utilize jacketed conductors being supported by a messenger used as the system neutral. The messenger can be up to 0.750" in diameter and the phase conductors can be up to 2" in diameter. The PLP Ratchet Spacer meets industry-accepted electrical and mechanical criteria as well as ASTM material specifications for this application. The spacer utilizes adjustable ratcheting arms to secure the messenger and the covered phase conductors.
