Biogas Drying Units
Biogas from anaerobic digestion is saturated with water vapour that has a significant negative impact on the performance of energy recovery units. Removal of moisture is achieved by means of cooling down the biogas flow so that moisture turns into condensate water that can be easily separated, collected and discharged. The system is based on an air-cooled fully automatic water chiller and a water/biogas heat exchanger. The two units are connected by a recirculating water+glicole hydraulic circuit. Condensate water separated in the heat exchanger is collected inside a knock-out drum from which is automatically disposed. The system is designed as package unit; chiller is supplied separately, for installation in non-hazardous area.
Biogas Analysis Assists Process Control System
Biogas analysis assists process control and can help to optimise digester operation and maximize methane production. It can also ensure newly installed biogas plant is operating to design specification. PROGECO includes in its scope of supply hand held portable instruments and fixed continuous and automated equipment for analysis of methane (CH4), oxygen (O2), carbon dioxide (CO2), hydrogen sulphyde (H2S) in biogas. Data can be stored or sent to remote PC / SCADA system.
Biogas Autokleen Siloxane Removal System
The BGAK (PpTek technology) BioGas AutoKleen Siloxane Removal System is a filtering system that is fitted in the fuel supply line of a BioGas to Energy plant decontaminating landfill and sewage gas of siloxanes and other VOC`s. It has been designed to filter the siloxanes from the gas automatically switching between twin filter chambers, regenerating the filter medium in the `off-line` chamber. The system is a small skid-mounted self-contained unit and its operation is fully automatic. The siloxane filter units, under normal conditions, will absorb Siloxanes for up to 5 years before the medium requires replacement.
Digesters Ancillary Equipment
Heat Exchangers
Heat exchangers are used for heating sludge before its recirculation into anaerobic digesters. The basic heat exchanger is a pair of concentric tubes; sludge flows through the smaller center tube, while water flows (in counterflow) in the annular space formed by the outside of the smaller pipe and the inside of the larger pipe. To increase capacity, a number of these pairs are connected together until their combined size provides the needed capacity. Return bends connect the inner tubes and short sections of pipe connect the outer jackets. Heat exchanger is supplied with supporting steel frame and, as an option, with concentric insulation layer.
Biogas Flare Stacks
Progeco - Self-Supported Elevated Flare
The T flare is a self-supported elevated flare (open type) complete with a safety ladder and an upper platform that allow access to the nozzle and ignition and flame control equipment. The flame shield is designed to prevent accidental flame extinguishing and provides a chamber lined with fiberceramic for more complete biogas combustion. The flare stack is designed as package unit and is pre-assembled and pre-wired; the scope of supply includes gas train, control panel, flame arrestor, safety devices. Operation is fully automatic. Full stainless steel construction is available as option.
Progeco - Enclosed Ground Flares
HT-E series consist of enclosed ground flares specifically developed for installation in biomass plants where biogas combustion at full-flow is not expected to be required continuously, instead only occasionally when, for instance, engines are being serviced. Combustion occurs inside the cylindrical chamber under a controlled environment, where air is admitted through a damper. This causes a higher destruction efficiency of the biogas and eliminates visible flame and sound to provide the proper solution in sensitive areas. Standard construction is full stainless steel, including the supporting frame. The flare stack is supplied complete with gas train, control panel, flame arrestor, safety devices, automatic air damper, thermocouple and combustion temperature display. Operation is fully automatic.
Progeco - Enclosed Ground Flare
HT-S Type are high-performance enclosed ground flare stacks where biogas combustion temperature, flame retention time and destruction efficiency are the results to be achieved. Combustion occurs inside the base refractory combustion chamber and is completed in the upper cylindrical chamber lined with fiberceramic, under a controlled environment. Air flow is admitted into the combustion chamber through a motorized damper, depending on the combustion temperature set-point. An outer shield provides additional protection against radiant heat loss. The flare stack is supplied complete with gas train, control box fitted with touch-screen panel for operation setting and control, flame arrestor, safety devices, automatic air damper, thermocouple and combustion temperature control system. Operation is fully automatic.
Biogas - Biogas Flare Stacks
Progeco - Open Flare Stacks
Open flares are the most suitable solution in installations where combustion temperature and flame visibility are not subject to any regulation. The EMR flares family includes units for biogas flows from 10 to 250 Nm3/hr and is characterized by compact dimensions, simplified design, ease of installation. The ST version is an elevated flare and is suitable where the flame outlet must be kept at least 6 meters far from the ground level; maximum flow rate is 750 Nm3/hr.
Progeco - Semi-Enclosed Flare Stacks
EMR ADV flares are the most suitable solution in installations where combustion temperature and flame visibility are not subject to any regulation but it is required that the flame is partially hidden and contained inside a combustion chamber. The multi-nozzle burner and the particular design, size and features of the combustion chamber allow the burning of biogas at a higher flow than in open flares.
Progeco - Enclosed Flare Stacks
Enclosed flares HE and HTE type burn biogas in a cylindric enclosure fitted with a high-resistance fiberceramic insulation lining which ensures high combustion efficiency and limitation of both rumbling and radiation. Design of the burner and of the combustion chamber as well as the selection of construction material and ancillary equipment make these flares suitable for installation in projects where performance requirements are strict and binding.
