Our work however is not only limited to design and manufacture of equipment. Our ambitious task is to make power generation as environment friendly as possible. The equipment that we create secure permanent and reliable power supply bringing, at the same time, such tangible benefits as air quality improvement. Our activity is focused on recreating the long lost equilibrium of ecosystem within which people make reasonable use of natural resources and undertakes their protection.
Products manufactured by RAFAKO Boiler Engineering Company are operated under high pressure and temperature, therefore they are subject to strict quality requirements.
Within the field of design and fabrication of power generation equipment, the company constantly meets the requirements of Polish UDT, American ASME, German TRD as well as British, Swiss, Finnish and other rules.
In 1995, RAFAKO obtained ISO-9001 certificate, thus finalising the first stage of systematised approach to quality management. In 1998 RAFAKO obtained ISO-14001 environment management certificate.
In 2002 integration of Quality Assurance System and Environment Management System according to standards PN-EN 9001:2000 and PN-ISO 14001 was completed.
At the beginning of 2003 the Company was awarded with a certificate confirming that RAFAKO S.A. had introduced and applies a quality system according to requirements of European Union Directive 97/23/UE within the scope of boilers, pressure vessels and other equipment. It means that the Company already meets the requirements put on other European manufacturers. Desired direction within this scope is exerting influence on users of equipment and facilities produced by the company in order to create demand for most modern 'ecological' products. This requires a way of thinking in categories of products life cycle and providing conditions for integration of its fundamental stages beginning from engineering, through manufacture, operation, retrofitting to final elimination.
As the largest European manufacturer of boilers and environment protection equipment - we are obliged to care about development of new and modernization of existing products and technologies. Particular attention to the development foreseen in the long-term investment strategy and a group of top specialists allow us to search for new ideas and create innovative solutions.

RAFAKO projects are focused on several tasks, i.e. development of boiler technology and environment protection equipment such as flue gas desulphurization plants (FGD) and NOx reduction plants (including SCR), as well as modernization of dust removal equipment.
RAFAKO innovative activities are financed both by its own and public funds. Public grants are obtained through active participation in the national and EU research and development programs.
On European scale RAFAKO participates in international project DeeCon (Innovative After-Treatment System for Marine Diesel Engine Emission Control). Its main objective is to create a novel integrated on-board, after-treatment unit for ships that combines different sub-units, which will be optimized to remove specific primary pollutants.
