RFL specializes in the design and manufacture of electronic equipment and components for communication and relaying products in the electric utilities and transportation markets.

At RFL our quality management system is registered to the ISO 9001:2015 International Standard, from NSAI, for the design and manufacture of electronic assemblies for communication and relaying products for the electric utility, oil, gas and transportation markets.

RFL utilizes the business process approach to quality management, which provides the basis for a continual improvement environment. In this environment the process includes everything from identifying customer's needs, designing products meeting those needs and putting that plan into action for manufacturing and delivery.

Conflict Minerals

Our Policy

In August 2012, the SEC finalized into law Section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Act and the provisions relating to conflict minerals. Conflict minerals are specific minerals mined in conditions of armed conflict and human rights abuses, notably in the eastern provinces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). The law necessitates reporting requirements relating to the use of tin, tantalum, tungsten, and gold extracted in the DRC and adjoining countries.

RFL is committed to complying with the new reporting requirements and to the ethical sourcing of minerals used in our products. It is RFL’s policy not to purchase product materials containing minerals whose sale financed armed conflict in the DRC. The global supply chain for these minerals is complex, and tracing the minerals in our products to their source is a challenge. RFL is working diligently with our suppliers and other stakeholders to improve and systematically address the process for sourcing minerals that are "conflict-free." We continue to assess whether our products contain tin, tantalum, tungsten, and gold derived in the DRC or surrounding countries in order to advance our compliance efforts.

Recognizing the complexity of the issue, RFL appreciates the need for broad collaboration to reach our objectives. We are actively engaged in this process and we expect our suppliers to exercise due diligence on the source and chain of custody of the tantalum, tin, tungsten and gold throughout their supply chains used in components or products they supply to us. Based upon information learned through the due diligence efforts, we believe we will make important progress toward ensuring responsible mineral sourcing and improved transparency throughout the supply chain.

The certificate of registration from NSAI is awarded to RFL for meeting the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Standard. NSAI is accredited by the National Accreditation Board of Ireland the Registration Accreditation Board of the United States and a member of the IQNET, International Certification Network.

Lapem is the Quality division of CFE, The Federal Commission of Electricity of Mexico. Lapem is responsible for supplier evaluation, development and auditing in accordance with the ISO9001:2000 Quality Standard. Lapem approves organizations, such as RFL, for supplies and services to CFE.
