Pumps are the single largest user of motive power in both industrial and commercial applications in the UK, accounting for over 30% of total power consumption within these sectors.

In order to minimise the ownership costs of capital equipment, it is critical for the user to monitor and maintain the equipment once installed. Failure to do so will impact both on the mechanical integrity and economic performance of the installed equipment.

Focusing SPP’s considerable experience of pump design and operation together with our knowledge of Life Cycle service support & on site pumps system assessment, enable us to provide advice and recommendations for improving pump system efficiency for existing and planned pump systems.

Once the Pump has been mapped to the system and is operating as close to BEP as is possible within the system, meaningful condition monitoring can take place. It is always preferable to take a “foot print” of the pump in known good condition as this can be used as a datum against which deterioration can be measured.
