St1 direct sales and wholesale services offer an extensive range of energy products and services for both consumers and the corporate sector in the Nordic countries. We have developed Premium heating oils, as well as middle distillates for machinery and marine fuels. Our services also cover electricity contracts as well as payment and credit cards.

Our associated company North European Oil Trade group (NEOT) supplies annually around 7 billion liters of oil products to retail stations, homes and companies.

The focus of our R&D efforts is on researching and developing economically viable, environmentally sustainable energy solutions. We are looking for new cost-efficient solutions to produce renewable energy. However, there is also a lot of development work done within our traditional business segments that are still mainly based on fossil fuels: we are constantly improving our fuel products to meet customer needs in terms of efficiency and environmental-friendliness. Based on various sources, we have gathered our view of changes and challenges in the Nordic energy market for the next couple of decades. St1 Nordic Energy Outlook acts as a basis and roadmap for our R&D operations. An update to the first edition was published in 2017 and it will be updated again on a needs basis.

Ethanol is globally the most widely used and well-known biofuel. It is liquid fuel that replaces gasoline directly in existing usage. There is no large investments needed for distribution networks. The performance qualities of St1’s waste-based advanced ethanol are superior compared to most other alternative biofuels and it generates up to 90% less CO2-emissions than conventional fossil fuels. It has the possibility to vastly reduce fossil fuel -based GHG-emissions in a fast way.

We provide customers with new payment services, such as St1 Mastercard that can be applied from the St1 Way application. Along the new application we have also introduced mobile fueling in our network. For mobile fueling customer needs a smart phone and St1 application with a link to St1 Mastercard or any other private debit or credit card or payment service. Customers can also buy car washes using St1 Way and wash their cars at a convenient point of time without queuing. In addition, customer can monitor his or her own transactions, receipts and St1 Mastercard information in the application. Among the first issuers in Finland and Sweden, we have brought also Apple Pay to our customers.

The St1 and Shell retail stations offer high-quality fuel products for all kinds of vehicles. The oil industry experts at the St1 refinery in Gothenburg are dedicated to refining liquid fuels that are designed for the demanding driving conditions in the Nordic countries. All our products meet the local and European standards for traffic fuels.
