UPS is short for Uninterruptible Power Supply, as it allows electrical load to keep running and provides power in the event of a power failure. A UPS system utilizes DC power stored in the battery as its backup source. During normal operation, the power from AC mains is directly supplied to the output through a static transfer switch.
