Heavy Duty UPS
UPS is short for Uninterruptible Power Supply, as it allows electrical load to keep running and provides power in the event of a power failure. A UPS system utilizes DC power stored in the battery as its backup source. During normal operation, the power from AC mains is directly supplied to the output through a static transfer switch. At the same time, the AC is converted to DC to charge battery. When there is a power outage and primary supply breaks, the battery stops charging and the static switch transfers the output line to the inverter side very quickly. At the same time, the inverter starts drawing current from the battery which is then supplied to the AC load. Su-vastika uses advanced static switches in its Heavy Duty UPS that reduces switching time to just 5ms, which is fast enough to keep a computer and majority of sensitive equipment from shutting down.
