SUEZ - Enhancement Anaerobic Digestion System
Designed to recycle biosolids into methane and valuable byproducts, SUEZ’s advanced anaerobic digestion technologies use bacteria in the absence of oxygen to break down matter to create biogas. The biogas can be combusted or oxidized and used for heating or with a CHP engine to produce electricity and heat; it can also be compressed and used as fuel for vehicles with the cake produced, used as a fertilizer.

Trends in anaerobic digestion aim to reduce retention time and increase dry solids concentrations, raising organic loading and improve efficiency. With increased organic loading of digesters, mixing becomes critical to ensure the whole digester volume is available for processing; fresh feed material is mixed uniformly within the reactor; and the biological breakdown products of digestion are dispersed

SUEZ`s hydrolysis pasteurization digestion (HPD) process combines all of the stages of an effective digestion process into an integrated approach that can be tailored based on plant capacity to help maximize the conversion of these wastes into value products, namely renewable energy and fertilizer. The hydrolysis pasteurization digestion process enhances anaerobic digestion with over 80% conversion of COD to biogas and production of a nutrient rich, high quality digestate.
