Thermylis High Temperature Fluid Bed (HTFB) Incineration System
- Easily controlled and operated, the HTFB system incurs minimal labor and maintenance costs.
- The system is environmentally benign, destroying all volatile solids and pathogens with low air emissions.
- Autogenous operation minimizes auxiliary fuel costs.
Infilco Degremont's High Temperature Fluid Bed Incineration System is a sound alternative to multiple hearth incinerators for municipal and industrial sludge combustion applications.
Thermylis®: Economic, Environmentally Sound Sludge Disposal
As land becomes more scarce and sludge handling regulations grow more stringent, fluid bed incineration is becoming widely accepted for sludge disposal. In a fluid bed incinerator, water is evaporated and organic materials are combusted, eliminating odors and reducing the sludge to a much smaller quantity of inert ash (as low as 7% by weight). Land requirements and air pollution are reduced, protecting the environment.
With more than 25 fluid bed systems installed since 1981, Infilco Degremont is the North American leader in fluid bed incineration. Many aging multiple-hearth incinerators have been successfully converted to IDI High Temperature Fluid Beds (HTFBs). IDI’s Thermylis HTFB has proven applications not only in municipal sewage sludge, but also in management of chemical, petrochemical, pulp/paper, and pharmaceutical waste residues.h
