Continuous Heat Treat Furnaces
Surface Combustion - Belt Furnaces
When you look to purchase anything in life, you always feel more comfortable when you go to the experts. As a leading heat treat furnace manufacturer, Surface Combustion has more than 100 years of experience with thermal systems. One style of furnace used for fasteners, stampings, forgings or other components is a belt type furnaces. These can utilize mesh, cast link, or slat conveyor furnace belts. Within this belt furnace style, individual or bulk loaded parts are placed onto the belt which is then conveyed through the furnace. The furnace belt serves as the moving transport, and it operates in a continuous fashion. Post processes include quenching and washing or after tempering it can be soluble oil or other rust preventative treatments.
Surface Combustion - Roller Hearth Furnace
When you look to purchase anything in life, you always feel more comfortable when you go to the experts. Surface Combustion has more than 100 years of experience with thermal systems. Roller hearth furnaces are used for long product like pipes, tubes and bars and for heavier loading of product in baskets. Within the roller hearth furnace style, product is placed on the rolls in many fashions. Tube, pipe and bars incorporate laydown tables and lift and carry mechanisms. Basket loaded product is lifted onto base trays. The rollers on the charge tables and within the furnace are integrally driven in unison to move the load through the furnace. The discharge end can include slow cooling sections, quench tanks or discharge through and exit vestibule into an air environment.
Standard Atmosphere Equipment
Surface-Combustion Uni-DRAW - Batch Tempering Furnaces
The Uni-DRAW batch tempering furnace is a companion furnace to the Allcase Batch Integral Quench Furnace. Designed for pre-heating and tempering, the Uni-DRAW can also be used as a stand-alone heat-treating system. The unique round design results in an efficient circular wind flow along the inside of the furnace wall and is covered by the U.S Patent No. 4,963,091.

Atmosphere Gas Generator Equipment and Atmosphere Furnace
Surface Combustion - Endothermic Gas Generator
Surface Combustion pioneered the development of endothermic gas to be used as the carrier medium for today’s gas carburizing process. This revolutionized the heat treating industry from the pack carburizing process of yesterday and easily enabled the future of boost/diffuse carburizing, carbon control and all the instrumentation and sensors that grew out of this invention.
Surface Combustion - Exothermic Gas Generators
Surface Combustion leads the way with a versatile exothermic design that is used in many annealing, normalizing and bluing applications used widely in the pipe, tube, wire and motor industries. Many customers want the flexibility of higher combustibles in the range of 10% CO and Hydrogen (rich exothermic) AND lower combustibles in the range of 4% CO and Hydrogen (lean exothermic). Surface Combustion can offer both capabilities in the same generator with a simple change of the burner air/gas ratio. To complete the gas production, this gas is further chilled to lower dewpoints before it is suitable to be introduced into various styles of batch and continuous furnaces.
