Solar Water Heating

Grid-Tied Solar Photovoltaic Systems

How does It Work? Solar electric panels (otherwise known as photovoltaic, or PV modules) convert sunlight into DC electricity. This DC electricity is then conditioned to AC electricity at the same voltage required in your home or other building through use of an inverter system. Solar PV systems require little to no maintenance over the system lifetime of 25 – 30 years, making them a sound green energy investment you can feel good about. Solar PV systems are inherently low maintenance because they contain no moving parts to wear out over time.

PV Solar Boiler

Thermo Dynamics Ltd. (TDL) has researched and developed a solar water heater for the next generation. This solar water heater is powered by solar electric panels, that is, photovoltaic (PV) modules. Its called the PV Solar Boiler. TDL knows how to provide hot water using the Sun`s energy. Since 1981 we have been researching, developing, manufacturing and installing solar water heaters using our solar thermal collectors. Since 1991 we have been using the TDL solar powered pumps for the TDL Solar Boiler™ solar water heater. The TDL Solar Pump™ is powered by a small PV module. We know how to tap the energy of the Sun using PV modules.

Solar Boiler - Solar Domestic Water Heating System

The Solar Boiler collects energy from the sun and converts it into hot water.Domestic hot water is the second-highest energy cost in the typical household. In fact, for some homes it can be the highest energy expenditure. Solar water heating can now reduce your domestic water heating costs by as much as 65%.The Thermo Dynamics` Solar Boiler is today`s state-of-the-art solar water-heating appliance. Designed to pre-heat the domestic water that is supplied to your conventional water heater, it can result in remarkable savings. It`s easy to install and maintenance free. The installation package contains all the necessary hardware and complete instructions. As a homeowner, you can install it yourself or have your local Thermo Dynamics dealer do it for you.

Solar Pumps

e-Mag - PV-Powered Solar Pumps

The sun powers the Thermo Dynamics Solar Pump™ - no batteries, no high-voltage electricity, no engine consuming gasoline or diesel fuel - only harmless, low-voltage, solar-generated electricity, eternally available and pollution free. The Solar Pump™ system consists of a rotary vane pump driven by a photovoltaic (PV) powered DC motor and controller. The PV module drives the DC motor via a built-in linear current booster (LCB) with differential temperature controller, and utilizes a proportional speed control strategy achieved by the variable output of the PV module. This ensures maximum performance at all levels of solar irradiance and enables the Solar Pump™ to begin pumping with as little as one watt of power (one-tenth of a full sun, 100 W/m2)!!Flow rates of the Solar Pump™ range from 0.3 liters/minute (0.1 USGPM) to 12 L/m (3.2 USGPM) depending on the model.

Mag-Drive - PV Powered Solar Pump

The Mag-Drive Solar Pump™ (models: P24070M, P50140M) features a brushed DC motor, differential temperature controller, and is available with two sizes of pump head (models: BP070M and BP140M). Flow rates range from 0.3 liters/minute (0.1 USGPM) to 5.0 L/m (1.3 USGPM), depending on the model. Available in 12 & 24 VDC configuration

PV Powered Solar Pump

The Direct-Drive Solar Pump™ (model: P118330) is the largest Solar Pump™ and features a brushed DC motor, differential temperature controller, and a standard size pump head (model: BP330). Flow rates range from 2.0 liters/minute (0.5 USGPM) to 12 L/m (3.2 USGPM). Available in 12 & 24 VDC configuration.

Flat Plate Solar Collectors

How well your solar system performs depends on the efficiency of your solar collectors. Thermo Dynamics flat plate solar collectors set industry standards for superior performance and reliability. High technology and quality make the difference. Each G series collector is engineered to achieve the maximum efficiency in industrial, commercial and domestic water heating applications.

TDL - Solar Radiant Floor Heating System

The Radiant Floor Heating Renaissance. We have come to expect that heating a home means putting up with high electricity bills, with the noise of a fan or creaking baseboard heaters, the recirculation of dust and pollen, fluctuations in temperature between on and off settings and the need to rearrange furniture around baseboard heaters, register and radiators. We simply accept that temperatures will differ considerably from room to room, that our heating bill may rival the size of our mortgage payment, that our sinuses and skin will starve for moisture every winter and that our feet will be perpetually cold. We simply have learned to live with these discomforts - until now - Radiant Floor Heating!!

Solar Pool Heating Systems

The use of a solar collector for heating your indoor or outdoor pool, will save substantially on your operating costs. A pool blanket is also a strongly recommended item to reduce the amount of heat loss while the pool is not in use. For indoor pools, large window areas with southern exposure will increase your passive solar gain and hence save you money. With solar pool heating, the goal is to achieve near 100 % of the required energy. This is more easily accomplished for the seasonal system as the summer months realize the greatest solar gain. There are two types of solar pool heating systems available; open loop and closed loop. Open loop solar pool heating systems are usually used in seasonal outdoor pool applications, while the latter is used in conjunction with year round indoor pool heating.

Sunstrip - Solar Absorber Fins

After a decade of research, the Sunstrip solar fin has emerged as one of the most innovative developments in solar technology. It`s elegant design and unparalleled performance mow make possible a new generation of attractive and affordable solar products. The fin`s metallurgically-bonded aluminum completely surrounds a copper tube waterway. The corrosion resistance of copper combined with the light weight and high thermal conductivity of aluminum produces the optimal finned tube. The metalurgical bond provides superior thermal contact resulting in superior heat absorption and conductivity, and long-term durability.
