Universal Steel America, Inc. is a subsidiary of the Salzgitter Group, with Universal sister-companies located throughout Europe. American operations began in 2001 with operations in Houston, TX, and Gary, IN. Throughout the years, Universal’s American branch of operations has seen success in the service center segment. Universal has grown with additional staff, renovated facilities, and eventually custom-built facilities for current operations in Houston, TX, and Crete, IL. Universal Steel America employs over 120 personnel in the combined facilities, which service North America, Mexico, Latin America, and South America. Our company was built on superior quality and customer service, and these core values still ring true today.
