Western Research Institute (WRI) is a technology development center serving private clients, industry, and government with expertise in energy, environment, and highway materials. We work with our partner-clients to bring together the knowledge and creativity to identify and address barriers to profitability. At WRI, we are mindful of the link between our business components—we find ways to boost energy production and efficiency while safeguarding natural systems. WRI is also home to a world-class asphalt materials research team specializing in asphalt chemistry. We’re advancing the understanding of the relationship between highway performance and the nature of the asphalt used in the pavement.
