As a self-employed facade and metal worker, he undertook the planning and installation of the first photovoltaic systems.Winning awards in Toronto and Rome strengthened his resolve to develop photovoltaic solutions. In 1997, as a planning and development consultant for photovoltaic systems, he began a successful collaboration with SOLON AG, based in Berlin, implementing numerous major projects in Germany.Franz Hilber was involved in the planning and develop-ment of photovoltaic systems for five federal buildings in Berlin. The picture shows the photovoltaic system of the Bundestag representatives' building. The prototype of the first MOVER still produces clean, reliable solar power. In 2003, Franz Hilber revolutionised the market by developing the "MOVER": a photovoltaic system was developed that follows the course of the sun, thus enabling constant energy generation over the whole day.In the same year, he founded his company in Steinach where, together with his team, he embarked on the series production of the tracking systems.19The solar park Gut Erlasee in Arnstein (Bavaria) is one of the largest tracking solar power plants in the world. By merging with the publicly traded SOLON SE in 2006, Franz Hilber was able to get one of the largest module manufacturers on board. This company continued to focus on manufacturing photovoltaic tracking systems. The company was able to successfully establish itself on the photovoltaic market thanks to numer-ous large projects with a total capacity of more than 180 MWp in Germany, Italy, Spain and Arizona. In 2011, competition increases; low-cost manufacturers from Asian countries cause market distor-tions. Franz Hilber parts with SOLON SE. After the management buy-out, HILBER SOLAR is founded in addition to two existing research and development companies. At the same time, the SOLWING product line is developed and launched. In 2012, the three companies are merged into HILBER SOLAR. The new product lines MOVER and Basic Line together with the SOLWING complete systems round off the product range. In Arnstein, the MOVERS generate a total capacity of more than 12 MW.Hilber Solar GmbH, Erlach 165, 6150 Steinach am Brenner, Österreich/AustriaPhone +43 5272 505, Fax +43 5272 505 99, www.hilbersolar.at, sales@hilbersolar.at 08/2012 Subject to technical modifications without notice.
