Aquarius Management and Automation System
Emissions Reporting, Alarm Handling, Fuel Consumption Monitoring, Data Logging, Renewable Energy Management and more! The Aquarius Management and Automation System or Aquarius MAS is a cost effective fuel oil consumption monitoring, alarm handling and data logging platform suitable for a wide range of ships. The system uses class-approved components and can be fitted to new ships or easily retrofitted to existing ships. The Aquarius MAS can record performance data plus be configured to control equipment and automate processes to turn on/off equipment. In addition the amount of energy provided by marine solar and/or wind power systems can be monitored against fuel consumption to verify savings when ships are fitted with renewable energy systems. CO2, NOx & SOx emissions can also be calculated.
Data collected by the system can be recorded to a hard drive or flash memory and analysed in order to fine-tune the operational performance of the ship or vessel the system is fitted to.
Fuel oil consumption data can for example be logged and then sent back to shore for reporting and analysis purposes.
Data from the Aquarius MAS can also be output to external software applications or transmitted to fleet management centres or support offices. Data, screen-shots and reports can also be printed.
The system is designed to operate in a multi-vendor environment and can interface with equipment and systems from a wide range of vendors. A variety of analogue and digital inputs can be connected via the Integrated Link System (ILS) or via RS-232C, NMEA or MODBUS interfaces for example. Ethernet and WLAN connections are also supported. Other connections can be supported via protocol converters.
Flexibility is a key strength of the Aquarius MAS meaning that the system can be upgraded and expanded as required during the life of a vessel. If new equipment is installed or existing equipment replaced the Aquarius hardware and software can be re-configured as needed to deal with these changes. Even renewable energy devices can be connected to and monitored by the system.
The Aquarius MAS is also simple to operate and diagnosing problems is assisted via in-built diagnostics, system alarms and the ability to configure spare ports on ILS units. In addition, a system with redundant/back-up elements is also available.
A range of screen & system displays can be configured depending on the shipowner`s requirements. A few examples can be found via this link: Aquarius MAS Screen Displays
