It is necessary to always give the right treatment to biogas, either it is produced from wastewater treatment systems or solid waste treatment systems. This means that, sometimes, it is necessary to burn the excess gas. Gas flares are used to burn off gas that cannot be used by the energy recovery systems due to excessive production or due to other reasons, like the biogas valorization equipment being stopped due to maintenances or breakdowns.
