AVL - Model HyTron - During Fuel Cell System
From Measure & Control - AVL Consumption Measurement
During fuel cell system testing or development, an accurate, reliable and measurable supply of hydrogen is vital. With components resistant to hydrogen embrittlement, any delivery system must provide the fuel gas at the correct pressure and prevent emissions that could contaminate the stack catalyst. At AVL we have developed an answer to this challenge. We have named it AVL HyTron™.

Products Details
Dynamic, Safe, Reliable
HyTron is an industrialized solution with a flow range that meets the required gas pressure at the anode. It doesn’t contain any materials that could emit contaminants that would influence the stack catalyst.
To ensure safety, if the unit-under-test (UUT) is undergoing modifications or repairs, the supply line can be purged with an inert gas such as nitrogen. This allows the lab manager to focus on testing and development activities, confident that safe operation is guaranteed.
Precise Measurement Under Real Conditions
As well as its basic functionality, HyTron emulates the behavior of a real hydrogen fuel tank to mimic real conditions on the testbed. It allows precise hydrogen flow measurement during transient and stationary testing for efficiency or certification tasks.
HyTron is the safe and reliable way to emulate the interface between the fuel cell and the vehicle hydrogen tank on the testbed. It ensures 24/7 operation that is degradation-free.
