Wattius - Model wBMS-MX BMU Pro -Battery Monitoring Unit
The Wattius wBMS-MX BMU Pro is an advanced battery monitoring unit designed for integration with wBMS-MX and wBMS-HX cell management units (CMUs). This unit complies directly with IEC62619 standards and boasts a pre-certification for Functional Safety in accordance with ISO13849:1 Performance Level D, verified by an independent European laboratory. Featuring dual CAN bus interfaces, Bluetooth, and USB connectivity, the BMU Pro enhances current measurement precision and offers support for up to four hall sensor inputs, accommodating dual-range current sensors. Designed for scalability, each BMU can handle up to 48 CMUs and supports parallel connections without additional hardware. Its flexibility allows seamless integration with energy management systems and inverters, while maintaining compliance with safety standards. The unit operates within a voltage supply range of 9-36 Vdc, ensuring low power consumption, and provides extensive diagnostic features with multiple configurable inputs and outputs.
The Wattius wBMS-MX BMU Pro is an upgraded Battery Monitoring Unit option compatible with all wBMS-MX and wBMS-HX CMUs.
The wBMS-MX BMU Pro features direct compliance with IEC62619 and is pre-certified for Functional Safety, with a Compliance Report for ISO13849:1 Performance Level D issued by a certified third-party testing entity.
The wBMS-MX BMU Pro features two CAN bus interfaces, as well as Bluetooth and USB. It also improves current measurement accuracy, featuring up to 4 hall sensors inputs, providing support for dual-range current sensors.
Each BMU supports up to 48 CMUs, compatible with all Wattius wBMS-MX and wBMS-HX CMU models. Multiple BMUs can be connected in parallel without additional hardware. The system automatically handles smart string connection/ disconnection and provides a single control interface with EMS / Inverter.

wBMS-MX BMU Pro and all the wBMS-HX lineup have been evaluated and tested by an independent certified European laboratory and feature a Compliance Report for ISO13849-1, Performance Level D. The Compliance Report is accompanied by a full Safety Manual documentation, allowing our customers to integrate our wBMS and design a fully Functional Safety compliant end product.
Our wBMS products are fully compliant for Functional Safety while keeping all their flexibility and parametrization features. The Functional Safety performance and compliance is not bound to custom firmware developments, or complex, costly and lengthy custom projects. Just integrate and configure the off-the-shelf BMS according to your requirements and to the Safety Manual, and you will have a fully compliant system.
