Biomethaneorrenewable natural gas(RNG) is produced via biogas upgrading. It can also be used as a renewable fuel in gas engines. Clarke Energy can provide bothbiogas upgradingandbiogas enginetechnologies.
Biomethane is a sustainable fuel that is produced by biogas upgraders which remove the CO2from biogas. Biomethane is produced from biogas that is derived from organic matter such as human waste / sewage, food waste, distillery waste or agricultural materials. As the carbon in this material has been recently taken from the atmosphere and is part of the short-term carbon cycle biogas and biomethane are deemed to be renewable fuels.
Biogas is dried and cleaned to remove impurities and upgraded to pure biomethane.
Biomethane can also be used inpeaking stations. As biomethane is a renewable fuel it can be used to balance intermittent renewable electricity to provide a fully renewable power supply.
Clarke Energy prides itself on offering global energy solutions; including Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). For BESS requirements, partnering with Clarke Energy allows customers to enhance their utilisation of renewable energy, establish a reliable backup power source, decrease their environmental impact, and realise significant cost savings.
Clarke Energy is pleased to announce the official commissioning of our most recent renewable natural gas (RNG) project completed in the United States. The site at BioTown Biogas in Reynolds, Indiana is now home to one of the largest on-farm biogas upgrading facilities in the country. Carefully processing roughly 500,000 gallons/day of agricultural waste – this system highlights Clarke Energy’s ability to deliver the latest biogas upgrading equipment for large-scale sustainable agriculture practices...
The journey to net-zero presents many questions about where combined heat and power (CHP) gas engines fit into the future of the UK energy network. Achieving net-zero cannot come at the expense of fuel poverty or energy blackouts and it is therefore vital to balance the ‘Energy Trilemma’ of sustainability, affordability, and security during the transition. CHP remains a highly versatile and efficient use of primary energy which can offer benefits and balance covering all three aspects of the energy...
Clarke Energy are proud to be sponsoring the The Food and Drink Federation Conference 2022 taking place on 22nd March at the National Gallery in London.
Adam Wray-Summerson, Clarke Energy Project and Market Development Manager will be speaking during the ‘Net Zero versus reality?’ session. Climate change is the biggest global threat to our sector but is there a trade-off between achieving the net zero ambition and financial performance? The panel will be discussing the sector’s challenges and...
Clarke Energy, A Kohler Company is pleased to be gold sponsors of the Microgrid 2022 conference alongside our sister company Heila Technologies. Clarke Energy is an international specialist in the engineering, installation and maintenance of distributed power solutions. Our core flexible CHP offering can be complimented with other forms of power generation solution and energy management system. We are able to supply a gas engine into a microgrid or alternatively deliver a turnkey solution incorporating other...
SAS Sanamethan’s biogas upgrading plant to upgrade biogas to biomethane for injection into gas grid and in parallel recovery of renewable carbon dioxide (CO2).
Clarke Energy has supplied a Tecno Project Industriale (TPI) 3-stage biogas upgrading solution with a recovery unit to recover liquid renewable CO2 along with gas treatment equipment.
Project will support the decarbonisation of the gas grid which has the potential to be a carbon negative energy solution by reducing CO2 up to 4 000 tons CO2 equivalent...
The inauguration of PEGAZE (production of energy from surplus gas) took place on the induslacq platform in February 2019. Anchored in the energy transition, SOBEGI has been ...
The essence of combined heat and power technology, over recent decades, is to provide continuous supplies of electricity and heat. This is done at the highest levels of fuel efficiency – ...
