A boiler economizer is essentially a heat exchanger that makes a system more energy efficient by capturing enthalpy in a fluid that is hot but not hot enough to be used in a boiler, therefore recovering more useful enthalpy and increasing the efficiency of the steam boiler.

The economizer needs to be appropriately sized for the volume of flue gas, the temperature, the maximum pressure drop allowed through the stack, and the type of fuel used in the boiler. Summary
In boilers, economizers are generally designed to exchange heat with fluid, generally water. The exhaust from the boilers is generally in the temperature range of 200°C – 250°C, so there are a huge amount of losses from the boiler if any heat recovery devices are not installed after it.

Boiler Economizer that suits your boiler system and will increase its overall efficiency from 3% – 5%. An increase in boiler efficiency will save a lot of your operating costs and eventually will prolong the life of your boiler system.

Some heat energy remains in the flue gas when it goes out. If we cannot utilize this heat energy, it gets lost. A boiler economizer is a device that uses a portion of this remained energy of the flue gas to heat inlet water (feed water) to the boiler. Since the heat energy is given to the water before it gets fed to the boiler, the fuel requirement for producing steam is optimized. Because of that, we call this device an economizer.
