CreChar - Model Site C -Biomethane Plant for Performance Enhancement

The CreChar solution from Carbogenics is used in a biomethane plant, designed with a 6.5 MW thermal capacity and a gas-to-grid cap of 650m³/hour. Typically operating between 550 and 600 m³/hour, the plant can intermittently hit its maximum capacity. The biomethane process utilizes feedstock sourced from the operator's farm. Adding CreChar, in 25 kg digestible bags, to the feed hopper enhances plant efficiency without disrupting operations. Analytical data showcases a 4% rise in gas production per tonne of dry matter, coupled with a 2% increase in methane concentration. These improvements translate into significant annual savings and an increase in gas production by up to 50 m³/hour. By stabilizing plant biology and reducing equipment wear, CreChar optimizes performance, facilitating stable operation and mitigates troubleshooting costs. Its application demonstrates no adverse effects on digestate quality, contributing to carbon sequestration with 57t of CO2e captured via digestate.
