Diesel Cogeneration Plants for Efficient Energy and Heat Production

Cogeneration is the combined production of electrical energy and heat. In the case of a cogeneration generator set, the thermal energy produced by the endothermic engine is not dispersed into the environment but recovered using heat exchangers. The heat recovery system may consist of an engine jacket water exchanger, an engine oil exchanger, an intercooler exchanger and an exhaust gas exchanger. All or some of these heat recovery systems can be used. The hot water produced can be used for environmental heating/cooling and in production processes.
