Luehr-Filter - Flat-Tube Heat Exchanger
Due to the temperature limitations of filter fabrics the Luehr Filter flat-tube gas to air heat exchangers have been developed to cool particle laden exhaust gases to a temperature where fabric filters can be employed.
The heat exchanger is constructed from horizontal steel tubes of a size, shape and arrangement similar to that of the Luehr oval bag fabric filters. In applications with a large fraction of course particulate in the dust-laden gas, the heat exchanger also doubles as a drop out chamber extending the life of the fabric filter and filter bags.
The Luehr Filter heat exchanger is a robust design with easy access for inspecting and replacing of the cooling tubes and seals. Additionally, it reduces the volume of gas to be filtered, resulting in a smaller fabric filter size and potentially lowers the cost of the filter material, which can go towards offsetting the cost of the heat exchanger itself.
