The new GEROtherm-geothermal probe design contains proven features and many additional advantages for the designer, the engineer, the drill master, the client as:

  • Increased wall thickness in the U-bend for higher pressure loads and stability up to PN32
  • Increased protection of U-bend due to innovative surface structure
  • Lean design for small drilling diameters and quick installation
  • Minimized pressure loss due to increased cross section area in the U-bend < 10 mbar at 1.0 m/s
  • Proven mud container in the U-bend
  • Proven symmetric design - easiest preparation at the construction site
  • Proven holding fixture for attachment of weights
  • GEROtherm-complete system is certified by the SKZ (Süddeutsches Kunststoffzentrum, Würzburg, Germany) according to the HR 3.26 system guideline and fulfills all requirements of the VDI 4640 und SIA 384/6:2010
  • Life time over 100 years @ 20°C

The SKZ testing and monitoring symbol proves that all components (pipes, moulded parts, fittings) correspond to the prevailing standards and specifications, such as ISO, EN, DIN, DVS, etc..

GEROtherm-geothermal probes are made of Polyethylene PE 100-RC ("Resistance of crack") of the latest generation. They are available in the dimensions of 25 x 2.3 mm, 32 x 3.0 mm, 40 x 3.7 mm and 40 x 4.5 mm. Lenghts up to 300m in standard lenghts are always on stock. GEROtherm-geothermal probes with a diameter of 50 mm are available in various lengths on request. Lengths > 300 m and special lengths are available on request.

For geothermal applications with increased temperatures (<70°C), i.e. closed systems for thermal water, geothermal probes in PE-RT ("Raised Temperature") quality are also available on request.

GEROtherm-geothermal probes are delivered wrapped in stretch film. In addition to protecting the probes from damage, the stretch film also stabilizes the geothermal probes from damage, the stretch film also stabilizes the geothermal probes on the pallet and thereby facilitates the transport.

Each factory-welded GEROtherm-U-tube foot is also protected in a foil pouch and is delivered with an individual factory certificate to EN 10204 2.2. The test report is the full and complete traceability of the geothermal probes, from the construction site through to the raw materials used. An installation certificate for geothermal probes that have been sunk can be drawn up and be printed out and are archived by entering the data on the respective factory certificate.

The protective and impact resistant sleeve GEROtherm-Push for geothermal probes measuring 32 mm and 40 mm protects all installation methods with its robust and modular design including crushing with its weight stacks for geothermal probes. The protective and impact resistant sleeve can be used with or without weight containers and thereby permits the greatest flexibility. The GEROtherm-Push and weight containers are easy to connect tanks to a conical thread with end stops.

The innovative design makes for a simple and easy installation of the geothermal probes incl. injection tube in the protective and impact resistant sleeve and guarantees a straight guide of the geothermal probes as they sink to the borehole. The impact forces (max. permissible impact weight 800 kg) are thereby transferred directly to the GEROtherm-Push and not on the probe foot. Only the force need to tighten up the probes is transferred to the probe foot.
