Iris - Model TF -Air Gap Flux Detection Probe
The Total Flux Probe (TFProbe) is used for detection of shorted rotor windings in generators and synchronous motors where the air gap is less than 50mm by measuring air gap flux.
The Iris Power Total Flux Probe (TFProbe) is a non-metallic sensor that detects the magnetic field emanated from each rotor pole in generators and synchronous motors to determine the presence and severity of failure mechanisms including out of round rotor, off center rotor, thermal imbalance of rotor poles, loose poles, stator Migration or shorted rotor turns.
These failure mechanisms can lead to decreased generator power, higher electrical losses, inability to meet the machine MVA rating, significant vibration and catastrophic ground faults.
- The TFProbe, which is a small, thin, flexible, printed circuit board transducer affixed to a tooth in the stator
- The low probe height facilitates rotor removal and introduction without damaging the probe
- The TFProbe assembly includes the probe, probe cable and termination box.
- Can be used with the portable Iris Power RFAII instrument, the Iris Power FluxTracII continuous monitor, or the Iris Power GuardII monitor
- ATEX, IECEx, C-UL-US and INMETRO Hazardous location Certifications
Penetration assemblies are available for the folding flux probes being installed on hydrogen cooled machines
