Choice - Model 421B -Low-Temp Applications Refrigerant
Choice R-421B is a high-performance refrigerant in 24lb cylinders engineered for commercial refrigeration and low-temp applications. It directly replaces R-22, R-502, and R-404A without requiring unit modifications, saving time and costs. Ideal for air conditioning split systems, heat pumps, geothermal heat pumps, cold stores, supermarket systems, dairy chillers, reach-in storage, bakery applications, refrigerated transport, display cabinets, and walk-in coolers. R-421B offers a closely matched pressure-temperature relationship to R-404A, ensuring seamless retrofitting with minimal operational deviations. Unlike alternatives with multiple components causing temperature glide, R-421B`s two-component blend provides consistent evaporator temperatures, enhancing performance. Additionally, it is packaged with a proprietary lubricant to facilitate efficient oil return to the compressor.

Designed to Perform
We designed R-421B to have a nearly identical pressure-temperature (PT) relationship as R-404A. This is a key factor in retrofitting without significant deviations in general operation and metering. With R-421B, there is no unit modification needed -saving you time and money.
Consistent Temperatures
Many Low Temp R-22, R-502 alternatives on the market have 3, 4 and even 5 separate refrigerant components that comprise the blend. Each of these components have a unique PT curves that can vary from one another widely. This is known as temperature glide, and glide is a big problem. Glide causes inconsistent evaporator temperatures, resulting in performance degradation .
This is why we designed R-421B to have only 2 refrigerant components and the lowest temperature glide of leading Low Temp R-22, R-502 alternatives.
Compressor Friendly
We’ve packaged R-421B with a proprietary lubricant, designed to facilitate oil return to the compressor.
