IGSRegenerative Thermal Afterburning (RNV / RTO – plant)

SHARE

By using ceramic heat storage media in the form of saddles or honeycomb bodies, higher thermal efficiencies of up to 97% and more are possible through the system`s internal regenerative heat exchanger, in contrast to the conventional TNV system.

Thus, the process reaches the autothermal operating state even at very low pollutant concentrations in the exhaust air, ie the system heats itself through the exothermic energy released during the oxidation of the pollutants and does not require any additional heating using primary energy.

The RNV system is suitable for the oxidation of all organic pollutants such as volatile hydrocarbons (VOCs). Restrictions only apply to substances that form solids during oxidation (e.g. silanes) and exhaust air streams with a high dust content or sticky components, although in such cases the system can also be operated with additional equipment for maintenance and inspection.

  • Autothermal operation from approx. 1-2 g/Nm³ pollutant concentration
  • Also available with electric heating register instead of gas burner system
  • Control of the oxidation temperature by natural gas injection instead of burner
  • Robust process, not susceptible to otherwise problematic substances such as catalysts, aerosols, deposits from components in the exhaust air, etc.
  • Burnout system for cleaning deposits
  • Extraction of energy (hot bypass) for waste heat recovery and adaptation to high pollutant concentrations above 5-6g/Nm³
  • Injection of small amounts of pollutant liquid into the combustion chamber
  • Simple operation and fully automatic operation
  • Safe compliance with the clean gas limit values according to TA-Luft
