LectrodryerRenewable Natural Gas Drying

SHARE

Lectrodryer RNG dryers remove water from renewable natural gas to comply with pipeline grade requirements or other fuel specifications. System is comprised of temperature swing adsorption (TSA) dryer with a reactivation system adequate for the process conditions with minimal or no gas losses due to purge. Additional upstream components may be included to optimize the drying process such as refrigeration dryer, cooler, knock out tank, etc. This solution is available for a wide range of flows, pressures, temperatures, and moisture content. System is designed for US standards but can be easily adapted to comply with other international certifications. In a limited number of applications, a pressure swing absorption (PSA) dryer might be a better option.

Renewable natural gas (RNG) is gas that is fully interchangeable with conventional natural gas and thus can be used in natural gas vehicles and other natural gas applications. RNG is biogas (the gaseous product of the decomposition of organic matter) that has been processed to purity standards. Like conventional natural gas, RNG can be used as a transportation fuel in the form of compressed natural gas (CNG) or liquefied natural gas (LNG). RNG qualifies as an advanced biofuel under the Renewable Fuel Standard.

Main sources of biogas include landfills, livestock operations, wastewater solids treatment. Other sources, less common are organic waste from industrial, institutional, and commercial entities, such as food manufacturing and wholesalers, supermarkets, restaurants, hospitals, and educational facilities.*
