Solarcraft MultiGenMultiGen Hybrid Electric Power Hub

SHARE

The MultiGen Hybrid Electric Power Hub by Solarcraft is an innovative solution combining solar and propane generator power sources to ensure reliable electricity in remote locations. Utilizing an integrated solar array, the MultiGen maintains battery charge, with the propane generator acting as a backup when solar alone is insufficient. This design optimizes energy efficiency by activating the generator only when necessary, reducing emissions and operational costs. Notably, the system supports devices with varying voltage needs and is especially suited for environments experiencing limited sunlight or demanding energy requirements during colder months. This hybrid system not only boosts energy production efficiency through solar and generator integration but also enhances power reliability across diverse and challenging environments. Incorporating solar energy with generator backup ensures minimal environmental impact while maintaining consistent power supply across critical infrastructure needs, including telecommunications, transportation, utilities, and remote surveillance operations.

Hybrid solar power systems integrate multiple power sources to meet energy needs in remote areas.

Solar and AC or DC UPS One type of hybrid system is a UPS/Solar system that combines solar power for backup when utility line power fails. This solution is useful in remote areas prone to lengthy weather-related power outages. Incorporating solar power to top off UPS batteries when utility line power is down ensures a reliable and continuous energy supply.

Combining solar and wind power boosts system efficiency by integrating dual renewable sources.

Integrating solar and propane generators combines solar energy's sustainability with a generator's power capability, providing a versatile solution. Hybrid systems using solar and a generator are ideal for sites where solar alone is insufficient year-round, for example, in cold locations where batteries require heating.

Such hybrid configurations optimize energy production and offer flexibility and resilience, ensuring consistent power in various environmental conditions and remote landscapes.

The MultiGen™ is a hybrid power hub with dual power sourcing through its integrated solar array and propane electric generator. Solar power maintains the batteries, while the propane generator is an added backup. For devices with different voltage loads, a MultiGen is ideal as a power hub, operating multiple loads using the battery bank.

When the system detects a preset low-charge battery voltage, it activates the propane generator. The generator starts up, runs at peak efficiency to recharge the battery bank, then subsequently shuts down. This process eliminates the need for a continuously running generator.

The MultiGen significantly reduces emissions, noise levels, fuel consumption, maintenance requirements, and wear by reducing the generator's run duration. During the summer, the generator may not need to run at sites with light loads, such as control systems, valve actuation, or motion-activated lighting. The generator is activated in winter when sunlight is reduced, and more power is required to power enclosure heaters to maintain batteries at the required operating temperature.
