Tube Heat Exchangers
There are many different types of tube heat exchangers. As well as the thermal pre-requisites, operating pressure, operating temperature, operating conditions, type of fluid and cleaning requirements etc have an effect on how the heat exchanger should be designed.

The tube heat exchanger can be designed for single or several compartments both on the tube and the mantle side. The use of several compartments provides a higher flow speed and/or a shorter length.
The tubes are welded and/or rolled in one or two tube plates and are supported by a number of baffles. The purpose of the baffles is to control the flow so that optimal speed and turbulence is maintained, and also so that vibrations are avoided in the tube.
The temperature difference between the tube and the mantle side can lead to the thermal strain. At higher temperature differences, the heat exchanger is often equipped with a compensator, which takes up this tension.
If the exchanger is frequently subjected to larger variations, the compensator will wear out, and in such cases, a U tube exchanger would be more suitable. These exchangers are also the best choice, in case of extremely high pressure or if cleaning on the mantle side is necessary.
We comply with TEMA's recommendations, with regard to mechanical design, and also use TEMA's designations on our machinery.
